Australian films showcase
Sunset Cinema at the Quorn Caravan Park and Quorn Railway Station
(Wet Weather venue is the Quorn Town Hall)

Friday 24 April
Australian Showcase
Held at Quorn Caravan Park (if inclement, Quorn Town Hall)
Surrounded by majestic River Red Gums, the sounds and smell of the bush add an extra layer to the outdoor cinema experience
5:30 pm Food and Drinks available including BBQ by St Matthews Parish
6:00 pm Silver Brumby (20 mins – animated)
6:30 pm “Crackerbag” (14 mins) Directed by Glendyn Ivin (director of –
Last Ride 2009)
6:55 pm Feature Film “Beneath Clouds” (85 mins 2002) presented by BIG SCREEN AUSTRALIA from the National Film and Sound
archive. Directed by Ivan Sen. A visually poetic feature film about two youths who in trying to find themselves, momentarily find each other on the road to Sydney.
8:20 pm 20 minute break.
8:40 pm – featuring a collection of short films from the National Film and Sound archive by indigenous filmmakers – presented by BIG SCREEN AUSTRALIA.
10:00 pm Finish

Saturday 25 April Local Produce
Held at Quorn Railway Station – Platform Area.
(if inclement, Quorn Town Hall)
Set amongst working railway yards with views to The Dutchman’s Stern.
6:00 pm Unedited rushes of new material filmed during the Bush Festival by
the festival’s resident film – maker, John Mannion.
7:00 pm Break in program for the Quorn Lights Up! special feature.
7:30 pm Local Produce – a fine selection of locally grown films and film maker’s
works from around the Flinders Ranges and top of Spencers Gulf.
Includes the work of film makers, John Mannion, Dave Wade,
Jared Thomas, Malcolm Mc Kenzie, Cindi Drennan, local young film
makers of Quorn, and people telling their own Digital Story with the
help of the Media Resource Centre.
Cost: FREE ( Gold coin donation welcome towards running of Flinders Flicks
society). BYO chairs/blankets. Light refreshments available.
